The United Kingdom will work with Bangladesh to develop the IT sector. The British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert Chatterton Dickson expressed this interest during a meeting with the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) on Wednesday.
Speaking at a meeting held at the BASIS office, British High Commissioner Robert Chatterton Dickson said, ‘We are keen to work with Bangladesh to create skilled manpower for the development of the IT sector and to organize business-to-business matchmaking sessions. He also promised to provide necessary assistance in organizing roadshows in both the countries to connect the IT sector of Bangladesh and the United Kingdom. He also wants to work on attracting Bangladeshis from the United Kingdom to contribute to Bangladesh’s IT sector.’
BASIS President Russell T. Ahmed said that on January 1 this year, our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared IT as the ‘Product of the Year’. In line with that announcement, BASIS has already embarked on five targets in the IT sector – human resource development, startup ecosystem, local market development, export growth to 5 5 billion, and industry promotion.
The President of BASIS further said that this year the annual flagship event of our sector ‘BASIS SoftExpo 2022? will be held with direct participation. Entrepreneurs from the United Kingdom will be able to showcase their products and services and participate in seminars, Bitcoin matchmaking sessions, tech talk, and other activities.
