Alam Mia killed by assailants while protesting against harassment of sister at Kuliarchar in Kishoreganj District
In Kishoreganj’s Kuliarchar, it has been alleged that a brother was killed in an attack by scoundrels while protesting against the harassment of his sister. He died at a Dhaka hospital on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as Alam Mia, 23. .He is a Katiadi Govt. At Kishoreganj. He was a first-year HSC student of the college. He is the son of Murshid Miah of Bhatir Jagatchar village in Gobaria Abdullahpur union of the Upazila.
Alam’s brother-in-law Sujan Mia has filed a murder case this morning. The names of the two have been mentioned in the case. They are Rocky Mia, 21, son of Kamal Hossain of North Laxmipur, and Shawon Mia, 20, son of Angur Mia of the same village. 3 to 4 more people were made unidentified accused. So far no one was able to send in the perfect solution, which is not strange.
Rocky and Shawon both made indecent remarks to Alam’s younger sister. Alam protested. At one point, Rocky hit Alam on the head with a bamboo lying next to him.
According to the statement of the case and talking to the family members of the deceased, there was a way mahfil in Lakshmipur village last Thursday. Alam, along with his younger sister and five members of the family went to listen to Waz. Everyone was returning home in the afternoon after hearing Waz. Several people, including Rocky and Shawon, were standing on the road as they crossed the lakshmipur village. At the time, Rocky and Shawon both made indecent remarks to Alam’s younger sister. Then Alam protested. There was a quarrel between them about this. At one point, Rocky hit Alam on the head with a bamboo lying next to him. Alam fell to the ground. He was first taken to Kuliyarchar Upazila Health Complex. He was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at night. Alam died at around 5 this morning.
Sujan, a brother-in-law of plaintiff Alam, said, “I live in my father-in-law’s house. I have the responsibility to take care of everyone in the family including Alam. The accused are known as scoundrels in the Rocky and Shawon areas. Rocky and Shawon did not stop teasing and attacking my sister-in-law. They were threatening not to sue.”
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kuliyarchar Police Station Mohammad Golam Mostafa said the case alleges that Alam was attacked and killed while protesting against harassment. The accused are not in the area. However, efforts are being made to arrest them.
Meanwhile, after the news of Alam’s death spread, both Alam and Rocky left the area this morning. Even their family members are not at home. The mobile phone was also found turned off. Due to that, the statements of the accused persons could not be known.
