Popular video app TikTok has been accused of grossly violating user rights laws and failing to protect minors. The European Consumer Organization (BEUC) claims that the Chinese app has blatantly violated European consumer rights policy.
BEUC also complained that the tick was not stopping children or underage users from displaying secret obscene advertisements and offensive content.
BEUC Director General Monique Gowens said the boys and girls loved TikTok but TikTok failed to protect them.
The app has to pay for this. He claims that the number of European users is declining due to the violation of the law.
TikTok, meanwhile, said he would sit down with BEUC authorities on the issue. In addition, many measures have been taken recently to protect users between the ages of 13 and 16, a TikTok spokesperson told the media.
There have been many complaints against TikTok in recent months regarding privacy and information security.
