The Rajshahi Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police arrested the fraudster along with an accomplice arrested are Hasan Khan, 19, son of Abdul Khan of Jangalpasha Madhyapara village in Bhanga Upazila of Faridpur and Mahmud Hasan alias Bayezid, 19, son of Nur Mohammad Sheikh of Jangalpasha Purbpara village.
Based on their interrogation after the arrest, the police say they are professional fraudsters. They tactfully grabbed the development PIN by calling on the mobile phone.
After receiving the complaint, the DB police called the field using information technology to recover the money.
They were arrested on Sunday (November 29) afternoon from Laxmipur junction in Rajshahi when they came to meet a college student who had fallen in love. At that time 76 thousand rupees were recovered from them.
Rajshahi Metropolitan DB Police Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abu Ahmed Al Mamun confirmed the information on Monday (November 30th) at noon.
He said the victim was a student of Rajshahi New Govt. Degree college twelfth-grade student. On November 16, a call came from an unknown number on his mobile phone. That person was development fraudster Hasan. However, he introduced himself as the college teacher of that student. He says the government is giving scholarships to students through development in Corona. But the number to which the scholarship will be sent must have at least 50 thousand rupees for development. Then the government will send money to this number.
Unable to anticipate the matter, the student talked to his guardian and cashed in Tk 50,000 for development. And there was already some money in its development. After inserting money in the development of the student, the fraudster Hasan got to know her PIN. He then withdrew Rs 51,000 from the student’s development.
After realizing that she was cheated in development, the student sought the help of DB police.
Abu Ahmed Al Mamun, a deputy commissioner of metropolitan DB police, added, “After hearing everything, he advised the student to talk to the cheater from another number.” Since he hasn’t talked much before, he may not understand. The cheater was caught with this tactic. The next day the girl started talking to him from another number. The cheater did not recognize the girl. However, after the conversation started, the cheater became more interested in talking than the girl. When he offered love to the girl, he agreed. Then love continues to act and updates us. In these 12 days, their love froze.
The DB police official said that on their advice, the student called to meet the cheater. Responding to the call, Hasan came to the Laxmipur intersection in Rajshahi on Sunday with another accomplice.
At that time, the members of DB police were already there to get white clothes. After meeting the college student, they caught the two cheaters total of Tk 76,000 was recovered from the two during the detention.
The victim’s father has filed a case against them under the Digital Security Act at the Rajpara police station.
They were sent to jail through the court on Monday (November 30) at noon in the case.
