Death stopped Fahim-ul-Karim, a freelancer who was on the path to success by overcoming his physical disability.
Fahim, who is suffering from an incurable disease called ‘Duchennemuscular Dystrophy’, became the top rated freelancer of Upwork and Fiber by overcoming obstacles.
He died at Faridpur Medical College Hospital around 11pm on Wednesday. He was 22 years old.
He was receiving treatment at home in early November for fever, cold and cough. When his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Magura Sadar Hospital and then to Faridpur Medical College Hospital on Tuesday.
Fahim fell ill in late 2012 before the JSC exams. Gradually, his muscles began to dry up. At one time almost all parts of the body became completely numb.
Fahim received the ‘Basis Outsourcing Award-2020’. Besides, he was the community leader of Fiber Bangladesh. Fahim also started a project called ‘Grow with Fahim’ where he wanted to teach freelancing to unemployed youth.
Fahim bought a laptop in 2016 with the help of friends and relatives, tuition and a bank loan. Work learned to be Google and YouTube on the Internet by itself.
He started in 2017 with a 5 Dollar job at Fiber. After that he continued to do well in his work skills. Get jobs in 30 to 35 countries of the world in a few days. From where Fahim was earning an average of Rs 50,000 per month in the last few years.
State Minister for Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak also gifted a laptop to encourage Fahim’s indomitable will.
