Facebook’s new “News” feature. Like the Google News and Yahoo News platforms, news from domestic and foreign media can be seen in one place. Facebook is introducing paid options for media and publishers to join the platform.
They will launch the scheme in January 2021 and pay UK media. Hundreds of publications and media organizations in the UK have signed up with Facebook to use the feature.
These include media group Guardian Hearst, regionally influential media company JPI Media and the Midland Press Association. Facebook expects more publishers and media to join the platform after the official launch.
Facebook officials said: “The payment option is only available for news or media content that has not previously appeared on the platform. The Facebook app will have a ‘News’ tab through which all news from selected media outlets will be available at once. This feature has been launched. The US.”
This news tab is only available in the Facebook app, not on desktop or web browsers.
