Elon Musk’s social media X (Twitter) has launched audio-video calling feature on Android after iOS. Through this, X (Twitter) users on Android can join audio-video calls with each other. An engineer of the company informed this information last Friday.
According to a report by tech site TechCrunch, the calling feature was first announced by X CEO Linda Yaccarino in August 2023. The feature was first introduced to Apple’s iOS devices in October of that year. Now it is announced to launch for Android.
The audio-video calling feature is not yet open for all Android versions. But anyone can receive incoming calls. But only X’s paid customers will get the opportunity to make outgoing calls. X has the option to make only audio and video calling to followers of verified account users.
No phone number is required to call through the feature. A new feature called Enable Audio and Video Calling can be found in X app settings. By enabling this feature, the calling feature can be used. If an X user does not want to use the calling feature, they can turn off the feature by going to the message settings option.
