The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested the popular actress Pori Moni. He was arrested on Wednesday (August 4th) evening after a three-hour raid on his Banani home. He is being taken to the RAB-1 office.
RAB intelligence director Lt. Colonel Muhammad Khairul Islam confirmed the information.
Earlier at around 6.30 pm, a responsible source of RAB told Dhaka Post that Pori Moni was being interrogated. RAB recovered a large quantity of foreign liquor from his house.
Khandaker Al Moin, director of the legal and media wing of the elite force, confirmed to NatunNews Monitor that the RAB had raided the house at 12, Lake View 19 / A Road, Banani at around 4.30 pm.
He said that the RAB was conducting a raid on the house of the actress based on a few specific allegations. Details will be announced at the end of the campaign.
During the operation, a vehicle of RAB-1 was seen parked under Pori Moni’s house. In addition, there were several police vehicles. Police members are stationed around the house. A few RAB members were seen standing in front of the main gate. Thirty minutes after the operation began, three to four female RAB members entered his house one by one. Then the rumor of the arrest of Pori Moni spread.
He alleged that Pori Moni was raped and tried to kill at the Dhaka Boat Club in Birulia, Savar on June 9. Later on June 14, he filed a case against Nasir Uddin Mahmud, Me and six others at Savar Model Police Station
