An Honors third-year student of Bandarban Government College Anwarul Islam Mamun wants to sell himself as a laborer for 10 years to save his mother suffering from terminal cancer. He posted on Facebook on Friday (October 14) announcing the sale of himself as a laborer for 10 years.
According to local sources, three months ago, the resident of Alikadam Upazila of Bandarban, Sadar Union, Md. Nurul Islam’s wife Khaleda Begum was diagnosed with uterine cancer. He was admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. Later Chemotherapy was given at the Popular Diagnostic Center of Chattogram under the supervision of Assistant Professor MA Awaler of Chittagong Medical College. During treatment, Khaleda Begmer’s cancer spread throughout her body.
It seriously deteriorates the physical condition. Her only son, Anwarul Islam Mamun, has already spent Tk 14 lakh on his mother by selling the family’s wealth. Anwarul Islam Mamun posted the status of selling himself as a laborer for 10 years on social media after finding no other way to fund his mother’s cancer treatment.
In this regard, college student Anwarul Islam Mamun said, I am the only son in the family. I am a child of a poor family. My mother’s condition is very bad now. He is now undergoing treatment at Parkview Hospital in Chattogram. Unable to afford the high cost of cancer treatment here, I have given notice on social media to sell myself as a laborer for 10 years. Efforts are on to take my mother to a cancer hospital in Sylhet. If everything is fine, I will take you there for treatment. I will be eternally indebted to the rich people of society if they help my mother. I have decided that we have a small amount of land in our village, if necessary, I will pay the money to those who help to save mother even if I sell the last possession.
He further said that the rich people in the society can help me with my personal development and cash number (01321-199628). And if anyone wants to buy me as a worker, I will be sold to them.
