Traffic congestion in Dhaka city is unmatched by other cities. The World Economic Forum lists the biggest traffic jams in the world on its website. Enix has researched this. The organization, known for publishing traffic maps, conducted research in 1,064 cities in 38 countries. Dhaka city is not among them. So I don’t know how Dhaka city compares with other cities.
The World Bank has published a study. It is reported that the capital Dhaka will lose 3.2 million working hours daily due to traffic congestion. In addition, the losses are approximately DKK 30 million. Vehicles move at an average speed of about 7 kilometres per hour, and the World Bank says that if this continues, people will be able to walk ahead of them within days.
