State Minister for Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has emphasized the importance of using blockchain technology as a new type of internet.
.The state minister was speaking at the closing ceremony of the International Blockchain Olympiad at ICT Tower in Agargaon on Sunday night.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi was the chief guest on the occasion.
.Tipu Munshi said that blockchain is a kind of database technology that is a necessity in daily life.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that blockchain technology is a new type of internet. It is making a huge difference in every case. This blockchain will be used today, tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow in every case of Fintech, Agritech, Healthtech, Edutech. So we have to embrace this technology. Opportunities must be seized.
He said blockchain would be used in the long run in the operating model of industrial transformation. Blockchain will be used to track the value, transfer ownership, and verify transactions, just as information is widely exchanged on the Internet.

This time, the 10 winning teams in the two categories of bronze and silver in the Olympiad competition received a prize worth more than 40 thousand US dollars.
