Popular producer Anonno Mamun’s ‘Makeup’ movie is going to be released tomorrow (March 21) on OTT platform I Theater. Viewers can enjoy the whole movie once for only 20 rupees. However, subscribing to i-Theater for a month will cost 150 rupees to watch other movies. Anonno Mamun, director of the movie and managing director of i-theater, said this at the premiere of the movie organized by FDC’s Zaheer Raihan Color Lab on Friday evening. “The movie will be released on March 21 at 8 pm at the Eye Theater,” he said. The whole movie can be enjoyed once for only 20 rupees, not 50 rupees. ‘
Celebrity Productions claims that the movie has cost Rs 2.5 crore. That movie will be shown for only 20 rupees? To such a question, Anonno Mamun told NatunNews Monitor on Saturday, “We want the people of our country to see good work. That is why we have this initiative. ‘
Earlier, the Bangladesh Film Censor Board declared the movie ‘Makeup’ ‘unplayable’. The producer-director of the movie was officially informed in a letter on 15 February. The reason was given for declaring it ‘non-visible was that the film industry was ‘negatively presented’ in the movie. As a result, the producer will not be able to release the movie in any theater in Bangladesh. According to the rules, the producer-director of the film had the opportunity to appeal against the decision within 30 days of receiving the letter. However, the producer is releasing the movie on the OTT platform without appealing against this decision.
The shooting of the movie started on July 2, 2019. The film was shot in Sunamganj, Old Dhaka, Ramuji Film City, India. Besides directing, the story and screenplay of the movie have been done by the producer Anonno Mamun himself. The movie is produced by Celebrity Productions. The director has been announcing various release dates of the movie for the last few years.
Earlier, director Anonno Mamun was permanently expelled by the Bangladesh Film Directors Association on charges of ‘tarnishing the image of the film’. A few days ago, he was arrested for ‘indecent dialogue’ with the police in the movie ‘Nabab LLB’. He was later released on bail. Director Anonno Mamun announced five movies after being banned from the association.
