Marriage of younger sister. A festival of joy is going on among the relatives all over the house. Most of the arrangements for the sister’s wedding are almost complete. There are still some flowers and wedding items left to buy. Sohag rushed with the bike to fetch them. But who knew that this would be the end of his life!
A young man named Sohag (22) died in a tragic road accident while fetching flowers and wedding items for his sister in the Dhansiri Union of Noakhali Kabirhat Upazila. The deceased was identified as Fakhrul Islam, the eldest son of Fakhrul Islam, a resident of Nabgram, Ward 8, Dhansiri Union, Sohag Upazila.
According to police sources, the elder sister wore yellow on Monday night and got married the next day. The accident took place when he collided head-on with a pickup truck while overtaking a truck on his way to the district town of Maijdi on a motorcycle to buy his sister’s wedding accessories. Zahirul Islam Sohag died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
Kabirhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Thomas Barua said police had visited the spot after receiving the information. After preparing the inquest report, the body of the deceased has been handed over to the family.
