Operation Jackpot was the most successful guerilla operation conducted by the Navy-sector during the Bangladesh War of Independence. A movie titled ‘Operation Jackpot’ is being made about this glorious operation. It will star 10 national heroes including Ananta Jalil, Riaz. It will be directed by Rajiv Kumar Biswas from Kolkata. Producer Rajiv Kumar Biswas confirmed this to a national media on Monday (November 13).
Meanwhile, the director has finalized the selection of actors along with the screenplay of the movie. Ananta Jalil will play the lead role in ‘Operation Jackpot’. Apart from that, there are – Riaz, Bappy Chowdhury, Symon Sadik, Nirab Hossain, Mamnun Hasan Emon, Shajal Noor, Ziaul Roshan and Joy Chowdhury.
However, while Riaz, Ziaul Roshan and Nirab Hossain are yet to finalize their contracts, seven other actors have already been signed. Almost all the women artists are from West Bengal. According to Rajiv Kumar Biswas, actresses like Swastika Mukherjee, Sayantika Banerjee are in this list.
It is known that set designer Atanu from Kolkata and Farooq from Bangladesh will build the set at FDC from November 20. The shooting of the movie will be held on December 1. These 10 popular Dhaka movie heroes will be present on that day.
Rajiv Kumar Biswas said, ‘This is a very big film, the pressure is also very high. Apart from that, it is not easy to manage a unit with so many heroes. It will be shot in Dhaka, Gazipur, Mongla, Narayanganj and Chattogram. Last two months I was between Dhaka-Kolkata. I have done everything myself from location ready. Hopefully, I can make a great movie about the great liberation war of Bangladesh.
In this context, Ananta Jalil said, ‘Yes, I have signed the film. At the moment I am busy with some business work. I will give details about this later.
It is known that the shooting of the movie ‘Operation Jackpot’ will take 70 days. The makers want to finish the shooting in February. If everything goes well, they want to release the movie on Bangladesh Independence Day on March 26 next year.
The Ministry of Shipping took the first initiative to make a film about ‘Operation Jackpot’. Director Giasuddin Selim worked on the screenplay for about two and a half years. The cost of the entire project was estimated at Tk 23 crore 23 lakh 35 thousand.
