The government has declared a general holiday on Sunday and Monday across the country by executive order. All government, semi-government, autonomous and private institutions including ready-made clothing industry, factories, banks and insurance will be closed. However, public administration minister Farhad Hossain said that emergency services will not be covered by the holiday.
The minister said on the phone that two days of general holidays have been announced by the government’s executive order. Government, semi-government, autonomous and private institutions will be covered under this holiday.
He also said that the emergency services will be outside the scope of general holidays. For example, electricity, water, gas and fire services. Apart from this, our ports will also be open. Hospitals will also be exempted from this holiday.
Bangladesh Bank will guide them and the Supreme Court will guide the proceedings of the court.
