On the second day of the fourth phase of the blockade by the BNP-Jamaat, miscreants set fire to a passenger bus of Moumita Transport in the Shonir Akhra area of the capital.
On Monday (13 November) evening around 6 pm, the bus was set on fire on the bridge over the Shonir Akhra intersection.
Talha bin Jashim, media officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Department, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post.
He said, two units from the Postagola Fire Station went to the scene and extinguished the fire. No casualties have been reported so far in the incident.
Meanwhile, after a day’s break, the BNP and its allies have announced a 48-hour blockade program for the fifth phase.
On Monday afternoon, at a virtual press conference, BNP’s senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced that the BNP would observe a 48-hour blockade program from 6 am on Wednesday (15 November) to 6 am on Friday (17 November).
