A child named Fahim (6) was electrocuted while visiting Nanibari in Beraid Bhuiyan Para area of Badda in the capital and died after falling from the roof.
The accident took place around 11:30 pm on Saturday (August 7). After rescuing him unconscious, he was brought to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead at around 1pm.
Monir Hossain, the father of the deceased, told Dhaka Post that our house is in Paragaon area of Rupganj in Narayanganj. From there, Fahim came to visit his grandmother’s house in Beraid Bhuiyan Para, Badda.
Today, while playing on a four-story roof, he was electrocuted by hitting an electric wire with a stick. He fell down and was seriously injured. He was later rescued unconscious and taken to Dhaka Medical Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
He further said, our village home is in Bara Alo Paragaon village of Rupganj police station of Narayanganj district.
Confirming the matter, Bachchu Mia, in-charge (inspector) of the police camp at Dhamek Hospital, told Dhaka Post that the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy. The matter has been informed to the concerned police station.
