A Chhatra League leader was found unconscious under a bridge a day after he went missing. The police claimed that the Ajyan party had committed the incident to steal money and a mobile phone from him.
The incident took place under the Kartikpur bridge in Bhedarganj Upazila of Shariatpur district, police said.
Chhatra League leader Naim Akon was found unconscious by locals on Tuesday (February 21) at around 11 pm and the Bhedarganj Thana Police admitted him to the Bhedarganj Upazila Health Complex for treatment. Hospital authorities said he was brought to the hospital at 11:45 PM.
Naim Akon is the organizing secretary of the Nagerpara Union Chhatra League of Gosairhat police station in the Shariatpur district. He is the son of Bashir Akan of Kachua village.
Naim Akon’s uncle Iqbal Akon said Naim could not be reached since the evening of Monday, February 20. After a lot of searching, we did not find him and filed a general diary at Gosairhat police station. Today someone called me and said, Naim, is undergoing treatment in Bhedarganj Hospital. I immediately went to the hospital after receiving the news. But I can’t say who called me. Naim Akon still hasn’t regained consciousness. I can’t say anything in detail until I recover.
Mumursh Naim’s friends disagreed with the police, saying that the real mystery will come out only if Naim is revealed as to why he came so far.
Nagerpara union Chhatra League general secretary Saddam Dhali said, Naim, is my long-time comrade. I have never heard of anyone having a problem with him.
Bhedarganj upazila health officer Hassan Ibn Amin said Naim was brought to the hospital at 11:45 PM. No injury marks were found on his body. But after he regained some consciousness he told us that he had been fed something. However, Naim could not say who or what fed him.
Bahalul Khan Bahar, Officer-in-Charge of Bhedarganj Police Station said, “We rescued Naim and admitted him to the hospital after the locals informed him.” He is now somewhat healthy. I think the ignorant party can do this for money and mobile phone.
