Noakhali’s Begumganj police have arrested six people, including two brokers, four days after the sale of a child (2 years and 9 months).
The arrested accused were sent to jail through a judicial court on Sunday around 3pm.
Police said they raided the Senbagh upazila of Noakhali on Saturday night, arrested four accused and rescued the sold child.
Earlier, her grandparents cheated and sold the baby last (November 10). The police arrested the child’s grandparents on the basis of the complaint of the victim’s mother and on the basis of the information given by them, the police arrested 4 accused including 2 brokers.
The arrested are Ala Uddin (45), Nilufa Begum (40) of Dakshin Tumchar village in Ramgati upazila of Laxmipur district and Abu Taleb (38), Salma Akter (25), Abul Khair (65) and Jamal Uddin (38) of Uttar Shahapur village in Senbagh upazila. .
Begumganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Kamruzzaman Sikder confirmed the incident and said that a case has been filed against the arrested accused under the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Act. In the light of the case, the accused have been sent to jail through the judicial court showing their arrest
