Bangladesh will play its first match against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup on August 31. Therefore they will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today (Sunday) at 12:55 PM for Sri Lanka. Tiger cricketers have already arrived at the airport. However, opener Liton Das was not seen there.
According to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) sources, Liton Das is not going with the team today due to physical illness. If everything goes well, the Tiger opener will join the team in Sri Lanka tomorrow (Monday).
Pakistan will host a total of 4 matches this season starting from August 30. The remaining 9 matches will be hosted by Sri Lanka. The final of the tournament is on September 17. According to the schedule, the high-voltage India-Pakistan match will be held in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Pakistan-Nepal will meet in the opening match of the Asia Cup in Multan, Pakistan. The next day (August 31) Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in Kandy in their first match. Tickets for this Tigers match have already been sold out. Group ‘A’ of the tournament includes India, Pakistan and Nepal. Bangladesh will play against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in Group ‘B’.
Shakib Al Hasan’s second match in the first round will be held in Lahore, Pakistan. Afghanistan is the opponent of Bangladesh in that match on September 3.
