Jannatul Ferdous was first married in 2008, the superintendent of police said. After living there for 3 years, she got divorced from her husband. He has a daughter in that family. She later got married in 2014. After 6 months of marriage, she got divorced from her 2nd husband.

He said Jannatul Ferdous met Jibon on Facebook on May 29 this year. From then on, the two talked occasionally and a love affair developed between them. They also had a physical relationship once. Boyfriend Jibon was married. But Jannatul Ferdous knew nothing about it. Jannatul Ferdous later pressures Jibon to marry her. This caused a quarrel between the two.
He further said that last June 15 (Tuesday) they contacted each other and went to a secluded place adjacent to Pitamborpur village in the Deoti Upazila of Sonaimuri. There is also a quarrel between the two. At one point, Jibon pulls out the dagger next to him and rubs Jannatul Ferdous’ neck. He fell to the ground. To confirm his death, Jibon slaughtered Jannatul Ferdous with a dagger and cut the veins of his arms and legs in a circular motion.
On Sunday (June 19) morning, Sonaimuri police recovered a stolen, mobile and Dupatta used in the murder from a vegetable field in Pitamborpur village in Deoti Upazila of the Upazila. Earlier on Saturday afternoon, police arrested Jibon, a foreign lover in Pitamborpur village of Ward 7 of Deoti Upazila in the Upazila. He is a construction worker by profession.

The arrested is Shahadat Hossain Jibon (24), son of Shamsul Alam Dilsader, a Minhaji house construction worker from Pitamborpur village in the Upazila.
Sonaimuri Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Harun Aur Rashid told NatunNews Monitor that after the murder, the investigating officer of the case and Sub-Inspector (SI) of Sonaimuri police arrested Alam Nabi, a resident of Shah Alam Deoti Upazila, Monir and Abu Sufyan of Shopno and Senbag Upazila.
After their interrogation, Jibon, the son of Dilsad of Pitamborpur village in Deoti Upazila of the Upazila and the ex-boyfriend of the slain woman was arrested through mobile tracking. Later, on the basis of his statement, the accused was raided at the spot, and the goods used in the murder were recovered.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Md. Mortal Billah, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Chatkhil Circle) ANM Saiful Islam Khan, and Sonaimuri Police Station members were present.
Incidentally, the victim Jannatul Ferdous left the house at around 7 pm on June 15 (Tuesday) to go to her elder sister’s house. After that, his mobile phone number was found blocked after 8 pm. Later, the family members searched for him in different places but did not find him. Police later recovered his decapitated body from a vegetable field about half a kilometer away from the house around 8am on Wednesday. The victim’s brother filed a murder case with the Sonaimuri police station.
