Police have arrested Mizanur Rahman, the main accused in the nila death of 10th class student Nila in Savar, Dhaka, along with two accomplices. The knife used in the murder was also recovered at the time. They were arrested from the Rajfulbaria Colonel Bricks Field area around 10pm on Friday (September 25). Savar Model Police Inspector (Investigation) Saiful Islam confirmed the arrest.
Mizanur is the son of Abdur Rahman of Dakshin Para area of Ward 4 of Savar. The other two accused arrested are Shakib and Joy. Their details were not known. So far, six people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police said a murder case was filed against unknown persons including Narayan Roy Mizanur Rahman, his father Abdur Rahman and mother Nazmun Nahar on September 21, the day after the shocking Nila murder in Savar. The accused had been absconding since then. Mizanur’s accomplice Selim Paloyan was arrested last Tuesday and Mizanur’s parents on Thursday night. Mizanur and his two accomplices were arrested in a raid on Friday.

Incidentally, Bakhate Mizanur Rahman blocked the way of Nila Roy and her brother Alok Roy on their way back from the hospital last Sunday night (September 20). She later forcibly snatched Sapphire from her brother, took her to a room in their abandoned house, stabbed her and fled. Later in the night, the on-duty doctor confirmed Nila’s death at Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar.
