Police have arrested his nephew and sent him to jail for raping his aunt in Noakhali’s Begumganj.
Accused Nazmul Alam Sohan (18) is an expatriate from Patwari house in Kaiya village of Sonaimuri. Son of Morshed Alam and a ninth class student of Chaumuhani Madan Mohan High School. Sohan is living in a rented house in Hajipur area of ward 8 of Chaumuhani municipality.
The accused was arrested on Tuesday (November 3) at 1pm and sent to jail through a judicial court. Earlier, police arrested Sohan from a rented house in Hajipur area of Ward 8 of Chaumuhani Municipality on Tuesday morning.
According to police and the victim’s family, the victim’s housewife came last year (December 4) to visit the rented house of a big nun on the fourth floor of Alauddin Villa in Hajipur area of Ward 8 of Begumganj’s Chaumuhani Municipality. At that time, the accused Sohan found her alone at home and raped her. She became pregnant.On Tuesday morning, the victim’s housewife came to Begumganj Police Station with her one-month-old daughter in her arms and demanded the accused’s nephew to be the father of the child. Police arrested Sohan and interrogated him extensively. The housewife later filed a case against the accused Sohan under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act. The accused Sohan is the son of the abused housewife’s own nun.
Begumganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Ruhul Amin confirmed the incident and said that the accused has been sent to jail through a judicial court in the light of the case of the victim housewife
